Location: BizDojo, 3 Market Lane, Wellington (We are flexible with a mix of working from home and from BizDojo)

Hours: Up to 20 hours per week (We are flexible with how these hours are worked over the week or month)

Contract: Fixed-term PAYE contract until end 2019 (with possibility to extend)

One Percent Collective exists to inspire generosity and to simplify regular giving. We’re now six years old and we’ve had an inspiring journey so far with over 500 donors currently giving their 1% and over one million dollars raised for the partner charities we support.

We create an awesome giving experience through regular storytelling and events to connect donors with their impact and to grow a generosity movement in Aotearoa where giving 1% of your income to charity is the norm. We like to do things differently in the charity world, creativity and user experience are at the core of what we do.

We run a super slim team of just over 1 FTE and for 2019 we’ve got a few structural changes we’re implementing. With our current Head of Comms & Community heading off on her travels, we’re looking for a new Wellington-based core team member to work closely alongside our Chief Doer of Things and to take real leadership as the comms and community operational engine behind One Percent Collective’s mahi.

We are after a creative, digital savvy, independent operator who is seeking a flexible working situation and can hit the ground running. We are very fond of passionate people who are friendly, open, honest and with a bulletproof work ethic and the skills to help us innovate.


Or, key responsibilities.

  • Work with Chief Doer of Things to strategise, design, and deliver on creative comms ideas to inspire current and potential donors

  • Take responsibility for social media strategy (i.e. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn) including posting regular content, tracking, and exploring new ideas to maximise reach

  • Manage a calendar for our monthly impact stories to ensure deadlines are met

    • Work alongside our Chief Doer of Things and contracted writers/photographers/videographers for content ideas and execution

    • Manage the monthly ‘Storytime’ newsletter email to donors

    • Be the glue between content creators and partner charities

  • Build relationships and liaise with partner charities and our donor network for ideas on general comms content

  • Manage donor admin flow to ensure a positive donor experience

    • Responsible for the crew inbox, welcome flow, and posting new donor welcome treats

    • Reconciling Xero and maintaining our donor database system

  • Analyse and report on what’s working, our impact, and room for improvement

  • Ensuring donors have a positive and connected giving experience

  • A growing & engaged audience on social media and through our newsletter

  • An awesome and effective digital marketing strategy that enables us to reach thousands on a limited budget

  • Smooth and seamless behind the scenes operations and administration


Or, key experiences.

  • Worked with platforms like Facebook Business Manager, Mailchimp, Hootsuite, and managed organisational social media channels

  • Previous copywriting experience (campaigns, newsletters, social media)

  • Customer relations, stakeholder management or experience building communities online

  • Proven website management and basic design skills (for creating online posts, newsletters, etc)

  • Digital literacy and able to quickly understand, select and use a broad range of technologies to get the job done.

    • E.g. Familiarity with CRMs, SEO, Xero, analytics tools, and G Suite.
